Van Martijn kreeg ik het verzoek om een stukje te schrijven over Haraszment. Van hun promo ‘Moon’ staan twee nummers op de site van rockportaal, maar de volledige promo telt vier nummers. (De twee nummers zijn te vinden op de downloads pagina.) Daarom zal ik geen eindoordeel vellen, maar slechts mijn bevinding geven van de twee tracks die ik beluisterd heb. Haraszment is een vijfmansformatie die naar eigen zeggen southern rock en metal speelt. Wat mij direct opvalt aan de twee nummers die ik gehoord heb (moon en Boybands Suck) is dat het predikaat metal ietwat overdreven is. Haraszment speelt gewoon vette rock ’n roll in de Amerikaanse traditie. Hierbij hoor ik invloeden voorbijkomen van Aerosmith, Steppenwolf (luister maar eens naar het thema van Boybands Suck, dat is een opgevoerde ‘Born to be Wild’), maar ook van een band als Guns ’n Roses of Velvet Revolver. Zeer sterke schakel is zanger Bobby, die een strot kan opentrekken waar je u tegen zegt. Vooral in moon weet hij te overtuigen. Dat hij ook een ruige strot kan opzetten bewijst Boybands Suck, maar de matige solo trekt het nummer in mijn optiek ietwat omlaag. Het duurt ook iets te lang. Waar bij Moon alles mooi afgemeten was, krijg ik bij Boybands Suck de indruk dat het nummer al veel eerder afgelopen had kunnen zijn. Maar om te zeggen dat Haraszment een slechte band zou zijn, nee absoluut niet. Maar daarvoor vind ik twee nummers niet echt een indruk geven. Voorlopig ben ik positief gestemd. Productietechnisch klinkt het super. Ik ben dan ook zeer benieuwd naar hun CD die binnenkort moet uitkomen.
